with most of the month of september stormy and rainy and the farmer's almanac predicting more of the same for the next few weeks, it is time for me to break down and replace my old wind blown umbrella! the on line search began and this multi-function number is what i came up with.

new from ikea: large graffiti slogan

although officially classified as vandalism, graffiti is the cutting edge of art today despite the fact its been around for four decades or more. i love it and look for it and respect the talents of taggers. one of my favorite street artists, banksy, has sold pieces for high $ over the last few years and therefore, with money comes legitimacy, right?
banksy loves irony.

KAWS calls himself the "original-fake" (andy-philes may dispute that) but, like warhol, his work definitely blurs the line between fine art and mass-produced merchandise. he has come along way from new jersey tagger to top-dollar artist.
