new from ikea: large graffiti slogan
although officially classified as vandalism, graffiti is the cutting edge of art today despite the fact its been around for four decades or more. i love it and look for it and respect the talents of taggers. one of my favorite street artists, banksy, has sold pieces for high $ over the last few years and therefore, with money comes legitimacy, right?banksy loves irony.

the original fake
KAWS calls himself the "original-fake" (andy-philes may dispute that) but, like warhol, his work definitely blurs the line between fine art and mass-produced merchandise. he has come along way from new jersey tagger to top-dollar artist.
