wow...i really dont know what to say about australian make-up artist/photographer emma hack other than "mind blowing"! using the wallpaper patterns of legendary (and sort of infamous) designer Florence Broadhurst and her models as muses, this face-painter-turned-fine-artist extraordinaire puts make-up on it' s proverbial ear. she rocks! found this great artist on one of my favorite sites, weburbanist. it also rocks.

i am a signtologist (fan)!

sign of the times: that's the signtologist! using street signs as his canvas, dan ericson aka the signtologist paints icons for all to see. his style reminds me of andy warhol's rendition of alberto korda's photograph of che guevara. he has even done a halting tribute to michael jackson, the way i prefer to remember the king of pop.

Cai Guo-Qiang at the guggenheim in spain
new york based artist Cai Guo-Qiang is hard to describe... he apparently had an explosive revelation and began using gunpowder as a medium. this obsession led to pseudo- explosions, and naturally, pyrotechnics. see his current mid-career retrospective at the guggenheim in bilboa through september 20th.
