shop local

i am a little behind on everything right now due to the confluence of holiday shopping, holiday entertaining and work: i have been selling my wares at the downtown holiday market! if you need a lovely gift for a gardener, birder or fashionista, please come visit me at this wonderful annual event in front of the national portrait gallery/museum of american art and buy something or eat something or listen to the wonderful musicians...its a great event and you will leave feeling the spirit of the holidays once again! i am in booth 38.

downtown holiday market

this is my last day at the downtown holiday market, but I wanted to highlight some of my awesome neighbors ... javid of kashmir imports has the most exquisite hand embroidered textiles. I bought one of his jackets for my mom's birthday. if you can't make it to the downtown holiday market today, check out his website @ www. kashmirimports.com.

first snowfall!!

we had the first snow fall of the season yesterday: not a fan!
it did not dampen the spirits of holiday shoppers at the downtown holiday market, however.
today is supposed to be much nicer:
please come visit!

loon-ey!

i loved her jewelry first, then i met stephney wallace at the downtown holiday market, and now i love her too! stephney lives in the artistic mecca known as baltimore, one of my favorite cities in the world and home to the maryland institute, college of art (one of my alma maters). i was watching loons fly and dive on the potomac river last week, so this pendant caught my eye this cool morning while dreaming of spring migration.
