chicken coupe

on the way back from a run with the dog this afternoon, i pulled up behind this truck. while sitting at the traffic light, i noticed there were some cages in the truck's bed...and then in those cages, i saw chickens peaking out! i got one quick photo  with the crappy iphone camera (can not wait for the 5-megapixel in june). you can sort of see their little heads: if you squint. i have so many questions! do chickens get cold? where were they going? why were they are on connecticut avenue? and, do they live nearby?

united states capitol

despite the fact that it houses offices for do-nothing idiots, the united states capitol building is gorgeous! so glad the snow is almost gone!

hello cupcake

bill and penny invited us to the cosmos club last night for dinner and a presentation on puget sound and the Chesapeake bay: it was a wonderful evening! penny is the proprietor of hello cupcake, hands down: the best cupcakes in dc! penny actually brought us 4 hello cupcakes, but I ate the strawberry one before I photographed it!

day 19: design something every day

pig on a blanket made of bacon ring was quickly drawn in my sketch pad and photographed with my crappy iPhone camera to honor my pledge of 365 consecutive days of design in 2010.

thievery corporation on current tv

i love thievery corporation: they produce one of the few types of music the mister and i agree on! not sure if that has anything to do with the fact he used to work with them at the fifth column nite bar/art club back in the day, but whatever! tonight, current tv features the hometown-dc mega stars in their new embedded program thievery corporation underground dc djs @ 11 est. if you are not familiar with thievery, they are a sound system, featuring two djs, live band and multiple rotating vocalist to create their unique sound. i never miss an opportunity to see and hear the group. above is a photo i took with the iphone from the upper bar at their show @ the 9:30 club last january 28th: so great!
