design something every day challenge

wow...i have definitely been designing something every day lately...just cant say what. let's just say, it will be available in the app store soon, and can be accessed from your iPhone,  iTouch and  iPad. more details soon, but check out my first app, master gardener, in the mean time: designed and developed with my brother.

day 76: design something every day

i am really behind on posting my daily designs...mainly because i have tried  to make my design time something tangible, something i have been meaning to work out, but just havent taken the time to put on paper. so, i have taken on some larger projects that i have been putting off, like the renovation/addition to my old house. i put up the design drawings a few weeks ago, but i am not going to bore you with the roof layouts or structural plans i have been working on. the final design drawings will be completed in a few months, and those should be interesting! i am also working on a couple changes to the river house without ruining the integrity of it's a-frame.  the main problem here is no protection from the elements at the entry- last weekend's torrential rains really brought this into focus. a roof is in order, but we would also like to expand the half-bath above the entry into a full bath and have a full-height ceiling in the tiny room. here is a sketch of what i am proposing...dimensions need to be worked out in a scaled drawing (coming soon!).

days 49-55: design something every day

i am behind on my daily postings of my design something every day challenge, but i have not stopped the design process. i have been working on some competitions, and today i submitted my designs for a creative bike rack competition for the golden triangle business district in downtown dc. i came up with a lot of different ideas, but these are the six i entered. that covers days 49-55, so i still have the other 8 (good) designs i didnt use to go.

day 48: design something every day

working on a competition with the theme of "sand" ...the deadline is wednesday.

day 45: design something new every day

 a car silhouette to be set in sterling.

i like cars.

day 39: design something every day

day 39: design something every day challenge resulted in a pair of pod pins made from one. sent these off to the caster today.

day 37: design something every day

today i designed a large vortex shaped nest setting for a large piece of quartz i found and polished.

day 36: design something every day

today's design is a choker centered around a large half-dome cabochon of very interesting amber. the chain will be a combination of sterling silver handmade links and ribbon.

day 35: design something every day

my design for today encompasses three sterling silver bezel set jasper rings...may have to add some type of prongs: not sure yet.

day 34: design something every day

i found this vintage brass stamping, enameled it and hung it from a gun metal chain. design done for day 34 of my design something every day challenge.

i missed loading my new designs for my daily design challenge for the last couple of days due to a nasty case of food poisoning...also missed blogging about my favorite day -ground hog day- but that's another story. so below are my three designs for days 31, 32 & 33 of design something every day challenge

carriage horse necklace is designed for day 30: design something new every day. this plastic piece from a polly pocket gypsy caravan will look great cast in sterling silver: cant wait to get these pieces back from the caster!

today i gathered all of my little plastic toys and party favors together in a package to send off to my caster for molds and castings. i am excited with the designs i have come up with for this new line and look forward to fabricating each limited edition piece...and then selling them! this design something every day challenge is working out great! today design number 26 is high heeled shoe earrings. i can also see post earrings, rings, charms, pins, etc.

day 25: design something every day

the latest addition  to the vintage-party-favor-themed-ring-design is a 'sheep wrapped in a sterling silver cowl'. why a cowl? that's the only thing i can knit! not true: i can (and have) knit a sweater, but that is all i could come up with in 30 minutes...the time i have alloted to come up with a new design every day for the entire year of 2010.

"beware of dog" ring.

i grew up with a german shepard named iago. he was a wonderful dog and a great explorer/companion for me.

he was also very protective of his dog bowl and tried to bite me every night when i added scraps from our dinner plates. 

day 22: design something every day

yeah: a camp fire ring, that's what i'm thinking. i found this fantastic faux bois rubber-y lit camp fire thing a few years back in the gutter. i cant wait to have it cast in silver because i love this ring! who has marshmallows? (i do)
