molly stolen from whole foods
i just read on channel four's website that some jerk stole molly from in front of the p street, nw whole foods market last night! i would freak out if my gorgeous baby went missing! Molly is about 60 lbs, with short, red/rust hair. She is very friendly and responds to her name. She has a scar inside her right hind leg and wears a pink nylon collar with cupcakes on it. more photos of molly here. if you have any information about molly's disappearance, please email the owners: findmollydog@gmail.com

german Street artist Edgar Mueller is so awesome. these paintings are mind-blowing and i would have to see them to actually believe them. this one is an apocalyptic transformation of a normal neighborhood street scene (ha!).

Cai Guo-Qiang at the guggenheim in spain
new york based artist Cai Guo-Qiang is hard to describe... he apparently had an explosive revelation and began using gunpowder as a medium. this obsession led to pseudo- explosions, and naturally, pyrotechnics. see his current mid-career retrospective at the guggenheim in bilboa through september 20th.

maltese cross
jesse commissioned me to make a cross for her boyfriend's 30th birthday: this is what i came up! it is kiln-fire enameled on both sides: the red & blue maltese cross side is bezel set in oxidized sterling silver and the other side is a cutout revealing a traditional cross in blue behind an acid etched frame. i used the inside of an envelope for the etched pattern. it turned out great.

the original fake
KAWS calls himself the "original-fake" (andy-philes may dispute that) but, like warhol, his work definitely blurs the line between fine art and mass-produced merchandise. he has come along way from new jersey tagger to top-dollar artist.
