i collect succulents: i have about twenty different varieties and am always looking for something new. etsy shop horticopia has an amazing selection and great photos, which make it hard to choose just one: might have to take them all!
random adventures in cyberspace

you know i love it, cuz i cover it alot. for those not familiar with the quickly rising art form, weburbanist offers a primer.
the temperature dropped about twenty degrees since last week: autumn has arrived! i need a neutral cover up...must be cozy: thinking of picking up this one from sebastian errazuriz.
the last day of real-feel summer must be the last day the carousel spins: celebrate the end of the season (or the beginning of fall!) with a trip to the historic glen echo merry-go-round. it wont be making the rounds again til next spring:( the carousal is circa 1921: this is the end of the 89th season: who knows if there will be another!
one of the few insects still around here this first day of autumn are the katydids: i just put the second one back outside! i might let them stay if they were pink like this one from new york! other insects also come in various hues of the shade, including a grasshopper found in Seaton Marshes Local Nature Reserve recently. pretty!
gentlemen, do not start your engines: today is car free day all around the world. do your part to reduce your very own carbon footprint by not driving.
although officially classified as vandalism, graffiti is the cutting edge of art today despite the fact its been around for four decades or more. i love it and look for it and respect the talents of taggers. one of my favorite street artists, banksy, has sold pieces for high $ over the last few years and therefore, with money comes legitimacy, right?
summer was meteorological over the first of september and officially over after labor day, but i cling to each and every sun ray til the bitter end: 9:18pm this tuesday, the exact time of the autumnal equinox. in fact, i am outside now, with fleece pants tucked into long socks and three layers on top: it's 68 degrees here on the chesapeake bay: burr! leaves are falling and a few are bright red (a little early for fall color, but not a huge amount of rain here), and i am feeling it: my cool weather clothes are sooo great! additionally, i ordered about 2/3 of anna sui's collection for target, so i'm ready! this little leaf pendant, electroformed in copper and on an adjustable black satin cord is a great fall accessory to wear with it all!
wow...i really dont know what to say about australian make-up artist/photographer emma hack other than "mind blowing"! using the wallpaper patterns of legendary (and sort of infamous) designer Florence Broadhurst and her models as muses, this face-painter-turned-fine-artist extraordinaire puts make-up on it' s proverbial ear. she rocks! found this great artist on one of my favorite sites, weburbanist. it also rocks.
